One of the best next steps, that we can
make as believers is to take the plunge into baptism. As a matter of fact, we are called to believe
AND be baptized. If you have never been
baptized why don’t you sign up now for our next beach baptism. It will take place at 3:00 pm, October 7 at Burkes Beach, Hilton Head Island.
If you are ready for this next important step in your journey, visit lowcountrycc.org. Or, if you have questions about baptism, call Pastor Bob Calhoun at 843.836.1101

The LCC Build Team is working wonders locally this week as they change the life (and house) of a 78 year-old widow that has spent days on end volunteering at Bluffton Self-Help. As she has served others, her house has fallen into great disrepair.
This week it has been our great privilege to radically upgrade her house and give her a safe, remodeled home. Additionally, Covert Air is volunteering their services and equipment to give her all new heating and air conditioning systems. Isn't that awesome? In this post, we are showing you a few "before" pictures as we work to:
-Repair rotten exterior wood
- Rewire electrical (interior and exterior)
-Paint exterior
-Build and screen-in front porch
- Install motion sensor lights around exterior
- Landscape and correct drainage issues
-New kitchen counters, sink, and repaint cabinets
- New interior doors and door handles
-New vinyl floors
-New bathroom toilet and flooring
-Roof repair
-Brush and tree removal
- and on and on….
All this is possible because of the skills and hard work of the LCC Build Team, YOUR generous giving and a God who provides and cares for His people. Much of the material has been donated (for which we are very grateful), but YOU gave all the rest when you give at LCC. Thank you! Stay tuned for some "after" photos next week.
Maybe you've never heard of George Frederick Handel but you've probably heard the famous Hallelujah Chorus from his 1741 work "Messiah." Perhaps it has beome a bit cliche' nowadays as it is mostly used in commercials to signal the epiphany of an actor deciding to buy the perfect product; but the fact remains that "Messiah" is a fabulous, awe inspiring reflection of the coming King, Jesus.
There is much lore about "Messiah" and whether Handel received the work under direct inspiration from God, or why King George II stood, when he heard the Hallelujah Chorus.
If you've never heard it before, CLICK HERE for a link to one of the great songs that tell about the babe we all celebrate at Christmas, "For Unto Us a Child is Born."
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9
As we enter our final week until Christmas, find time to forget about commercial Jesus, and fall in love again, with the loving, powerful, meek, King of Kings and Lord of Lords! He did it all for YOU!
Is God leading you to travel with us to Guatemala March 17 t0 25, 2012? Here are just a few of the things that we hope to accomplish on this trip:
Feeding ministries – to poor and children
Ministry to prostitutes – medical, encouragement, Bible study, beautification
Compassion ministry to disabled children in the hospital
Building ‘homes’ for a flood ravaged village
We will stay in a very nice Team House, but some nights may be spent in villages close to our construction projects.
Unfortunately, we can only take 12 people, so early registration is critical. Registration is not complete until you have turned in your deposit and application.
Application Deadline: January 22nd (application and $100 non-refundable deposit). Once the team fills up, we will have a waiting list for those who turn in deposits and applications. If an opening does not happen, you will receive your deposit back.

Don't forget, Sunday Night at 6:00 pm we will host our Family Tree Lighting. Come out and sing some Christmas carols, eat some cookies and watch the night sky LIGHT UP with wonder and amazement! Don't miss it!
Marquis Laughlin this Sunday! We love Marquis' annual visit with us. Invite, invite, and invite your friends and family to come and hear Marquis' unique presentation of one of Scripture's most faced-paced books, the Acts of the Apostles. (He will deliver a portion of the whole book due to time limitations.) Many of Marquis' resources will also be available for you to purchase. They are great aids in increasing your knowledge and appreciation of the Word.
If you, or maybe someone you know, are struggling with anxiety, depression or just loneliness as a result of being separated or divorced, you are not alone and we are here to help.
Tonight at LCC, from 7 to 9 pm, we are hosting a special session of Divorce Care called "Surviving the Holidays." In past years, many people have found this session very helpful in dealing with the new realities that come with being divorced or separated.
Surviving the Holidays is a warm, encouraging and helpful event. Featuring video instruction and group discussion, it will help you deal with the pain or grief you are enduring this holiday season.
Why don't you come tonight, be encouraged and find hope? Call or text Brad 816-7722 or Carol 422-0797 for more information.
