Dear LowCountry family,
There is excitement all over the place at LCC! Just think of what’s in store over the coming weeks…
- A brand new sermon series on the Beatitudes (“Happily Ever After”)- Core Classes (“Do the Five!)
- The inaugural classes of the Bible Institute of the LowCountry
- A return to three services (9/12)
- Another beach baptism in September
- A Vision & Worship Night
- A month of outreach
- …and much, much more.
This is a thrilling period for us. Yet, at the same time, we face our most difficult economic challenges. At this point we are facing an enormous shortfall in meeting our budget – and this after cutting our budget to the bone over the past 18 months. This daunting shortfall, if it continues, will severely curtail our ministries. We simply won’t be able to continue the same level of provision of ministry and outreach that are foundational to who we are as LCC.
We do need your help. I am certain that we all face personal financial challenges, so I am even more reticent to ask for your help right now. All I ask is that you prayerfully consider what God would have you do. We are asking every LCC family to consider giving $100 – above their regular giving – to LCC by this Sunday, August 15th. Darlene and I have already given an “above and beyond” gift, and are increasing the percentage of our tithe to LCC. If we all participate, we can erase this shortfall. If the Lord has blessed you such that you can give to your church during this crucial time, I would be most grateful. You may give this coming Sunday, through the mail to the church office, or securely on-line through our website.
Last night, we video-interviewed a number of LCCers, who shared their stories of God’s work in their lives. I am amazed at what Jesus does, and how He does it. God has used, and is continuing to use, our church to change lives and bring people into the kingdom. Hearing these stories – which you will hear and see in coming weeks – has made me even more committed to doing what God has called us to do.
Your regular support makes it possible, and your help will take us forward. Let’s keep our faith in God, trusting Him as Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. We will report to you the results of our special “above and beyond” giving on August 22nd. Please do carefully consider what the Lord would have you do.
